Welcome to VoxBook - Audio Stories ("VoxBook," "we," "us," or "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you have a positive experience on our application and related services (collectively, the "Service").
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use VoxBook. Please read this privacy policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please do not access the application.
By creating an account or using the Service, you consent to the data practices described in this policy.

We collect information you directly provide when you use the Service:

When you access or use VoxBook, we automatically collect certain information about your device and your activities:
- Listening Activity & Usage Data: This is core to our Service. We collect data on the audiobooks you listen to, your listening progress, listening duration, bookmarks, downloads, search history within the app, and interactions (such as likes or ratings). We use this primarily to personalize your recommendations and synchronize your progress across devices.
- Device Information: We collect information about the device you use to access the Service, including the hardware model, operating system and version, unique device identifiers (UDID), and mobile network information.
- Log Data: Our servers automatically record information created by your use of the Service. This may include your IP address, browser type, the date and time of your access, and crash reports.
c. Information from Third Parties
If you choose to link your VoxBook account to a third-party account (such as Google or Apple for simple sign-in), we receive information from that third party, such as your name and email address, as permitted by your settings with that service.
d. Payment Information
VoxBook does not directly collect or store your financial information (like credit card numbers). All payments for subscriptions or premium content are processed through third-party payment processors, specifically the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. We only receive a transaction receipt confirming payment.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To Provide the Service: To create and manage your account, stream audio content, manage your downloads, and synchronize your listening progress.
- To Personalize Your Experience: To understand your preferences based on your listening activity and suggest audiobooks, genres, and curated lists that you might enjoy.
- To Improve VoxBook: To analyze usage trends and listenership data to improve the content library, app functionality, and user interface.
- To Communicate with You: To send you technical notices, updates, security alerts, and support messages.
- For Security: To detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent transactions and other illegal activities and protect the rights and property of VoxBook and others.
4. Disclosure of Your Information
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share information we have collected about you in certain situations:
- Service Providers: We may share your information with third-party vendors, service providers, contractors, or agents who perform services for us or on our behalf and require access to such information to do that work (e.g., cloud hosting services like AWS or Google Cloud, analytics providers like Firebase).

If you delete your account, your personal information will generally be removed from our active databases within a reasonable timeframe, though some technical data may remain in our backup systems for a limited period.

We use Firebase Authentication and Firestore Database (Google Cloud) for secure data handling. Your information is encrypted in transit and at rest. We apply strong access controls and routinely review our security practices.
While we have taken reasonable steps to secure the personal information you provide to us, please be aware that despite our efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or other type of misuse.

VoxBook does not knowingly solicit information from or market to children under the age of 13 (or the relevant age of consent in your jurisdiction). If you become aware that any data has been collected from children under the applicable age threshold without parental consent, please contact us, and we will take steps to delete such data promptly.
8. Your Data Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including:
- Access and Correction: You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you and to ask that your personal information be corrected or updated.
- Account Deletion: You may delete your VoxBook account at any time within the app settings. This will erase your listening history and personal profile data. Once your account is deleted, all associated personal data is removed from our systems within 30 days.
- Communications Preferences: You can opt out of receiving promotional emails from us by following the unsubscribe instructions in those emails. You cannot opt out of receiving administrative messages related to your account or the Service.
- Withdraw Consent: You have the right to withdraw consent for certain data usage at any time.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top.
